Our Story:

Since our founding in 2003, Cellulant has evolved from a digital content provider into a leading payments platform with a presence in 35 African countries. For more than 20 years, we've built a robust network that integrates multiple payment methods, addressing the unique challenges of Africa’s diverse payment landscape.

We began selling ringtones as a digital content business and quickly realised the need for a more streamlined way to manage payments. This realisation led us to develop a platform that initially allowed customers to check their bank balances and eventually evolved into a comprehensive payment solution. Our journey has seen us partner with more than 1000 businesses, including some of the largest banks and mobile money providers on the continent.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Sales Director at Cellulant, you will occupy a role akin to a preliminary stage to our senior sales roles, with a primary emphasis on sales and account management activities rather than extensive strategic leadership. Your core responsibility involves fully owning specific client accounts within your assigned sector. You will be tasked with implementing the strategic sales plan, developed in collaboration with your supervisory leader, to expand Cellulant's market presence and boost revenue growth.

In this role, you will manage significant client accounts, playing a key part in the execution of sales strategies and the maintenance of the client relationship on an ongoing basis. You need to possess a comprehensive understanding of your sector, coupled with strong commercial skills. These abilities are crucial for successfully navigating the intricate landscape of technology sales within the African market. Your role, therefore, serves as a vital link between hands-on sales initiatives and the broader strategic objectives of the sales department, setting the stage for advancement to higher-level sales and strategic positions.

  • Checkout- Payment Service Providers (PSPs) and Aggregators Sector

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Account Management: Oversee a portfolio of key client accounts, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Sales Strategy Implementation: Assist in the development and execution of sales strategies for specific sectors.
  • Market Insight: Provide insights into market trends and customer needs to inform sales approaches.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with higher-level sales directors and VPs to align sales efforts with broader company objectives.
  • Reporting: Track and report on sales performance metrics, contributing to strategic planning.
  • Large Account Oversight: Take on responsibilities for managing larger accounts, under the guidance of senior sales leadership.
  • Customer Success Advocacy: Ensure successful implementation of solutions and provide ongoing support to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • RFP Participation and Proficiency: Expertise in handling the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, demonstrating the ability to manage and execute complex technology sales.

            QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

            Experience and Personal Attributes:

            • At least 7+ years of relevant experience.
            • Significant experience in sales, with a strong focus on account management.
            • You have demonstrated the ability to manage significant client accounts and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
            • Experience in implementing sales strategies and contributing to the sales planning process.
            • Insight into market trends, customer needs, and the ability to translate these into effective sales tactics.
            • Experience in collaborating with senior sales leadership to align individual sales efforts with broader organizational goals.
            • Proven track record in achieving sales targets and effectively managing larger accounts.
            • Strong commercial acumen, particularly in understanding the dynamics of the African market
